Wise advice for Depressed people...
A psychiatrist advised his depressed, forlorn and glum patient D to " Cheer up! This is not the end, the worst is yet to come!"
But D was no fool. She knew she was brainless, had no future, was going nowhere, had nothing to look forward to, was at a dead-end, everyone hated her, boss found her loathsome, her job was dull, she looked horrible, men avoided her, love was an alien word, and Support of family and friends, just meaningless words. Besides she wore dresses which were more like tents, since she was alarmingly huge. Depressed, she was determined to stay that way, and wallow in mud of self -pity, just like a contented cow. She had started liking the gloom. She almost loved the tinkling sound of the words "Disaster" and "Death." Oh! it felt so comfortable to be downcast dejected and depleted. Instinctively she knew that the grumpy beaten melancholic look particularly suited her grotesque face, and that she was basically sheer garbage. Pure unadulterated garbage. She told all this to the Doc.
The weary psychiatrist told D to regularly take the prescribed medicines, and leave, adding that it may be better to restart working, and also to take advice of a close friend..
After two weeks D persuaded herself to visit her aunt Mrs. Thwack who greeted her with a beaming smile and unleashed two solid kicks on her backside, adding that the kicks would do her a world of good. The good aunt advised her to take up a hobby like music, to exercise for twenty minutes daily, and to pray every night, before her normal miserable bedtime. AND most importantly, not to think of the future, rather not to think about past present or future at all. She muttered "Dont Think at all, and if you must, Think of the PRESENT as its a present." The Good Aunt Thwack administered another most benefecial kick on her niece's backside as the groteqsue sad niece went out .....yelling :" Come back soon my dear, you need my kicks to get you going again!!
